This week I have be mostly tracing roads in google earth, bringing the markers into Rail Simulator then laying key roads.

Once Newgate Street, Etherly lane and Escomb road are down the landscape becomes very familiar.
I will soon need to make a call on how many unique buildings and structures I'll want to model, not sure I'll be able to recreate everything.
