Cabin fever

Ok, just a few bits and bobs, more thrown in than placed correctly, placement will happen once the main dial console gets put in.

*EDIT*
For those that ask about camera view etc, this is what I had in mind.

Friday feeling

Hi, no route images today, just a note to say I got my 3rd and final book in the North Eastern Railway Architecture series (see below)
Full of great information and illustrations, I feel armed up now to tackle the Bishop Auckland station and it's features.

What time is it?

Hi,
A lunch time break and a quick little screen grab of the entrance to the Park Gates at Bishop Auckland.
It uses 2x512/512 textures. (I may go back to it and make it one 1024/512 if i find a spare hour or so.

This object was textured from one photograph. It did involve some photoshop trickery and our best friend the slice tool in 3DS max but for a low poly object I am pleased with the results.
The clock hands are not part of the texture as it will be a working clock in the RS engine.

Starting the 37 cab

Work on Bishop Auckland Station and surrounding area is still ongoing, ( I spent a couple of hours creating Bracks wood and the lower King James fields last night) however I think it is about time I got the cab for the 37 finished, it is the only thing holding up this Loco.

I need to clear the decks of these smaller projects so I can push on with the WVR route.
Below is a photo I took last year from 37003, looking a bit old but still impressive.

North water tower - Work in progress

Hi,
Just getting ready for a weeks holiday but managed to grab an hour or two to model the water tower at the north end of Bishop Auckland station.
A simple shape really, (edit) almost done.

Bishop Auckland Station layout

Well I have done my research, I've gathered as many books and images I could over the past year or so and spent a small fortune.

Not sure who that person on ebay is who keeps out bidding me for photos. I can not believe there is someone else out there as sad as i am when it comes to the station.
Ok, so here is the basic station layout, again just some simple shapes and texture, but it's how i remember it. Only major bits missing are the footbridge across to the station rec, the clock tower and the footbridge between platforms 2 and 3.

I think enough is enough and I now need to bring up the station to the signal box standard.
I need to stop flitting about. Speaking of which here is an image of a crow that i got animating in RS, anyone who wants the rpk can contact me. (it will be available on UKTS)

Just a few shots to update people,

Firstly I've been looking into larger town assets, I want my streets to look like they really do. Here is one of my town blocks, it will have two textures on it (3 including a light map), however those textures will be reused for other town blocks.
The shape is not finsihed as you may have gathered but it gives you an idea of size. Only a test texture on there at the moment too while I sort the shape out.

Second shot is of the level of detail I will be going to away from the track. There is no need to have drain pipes or over hanging roofs etc, however I do want the right number of doors and windows where I can. This is the street I grew up in and is just a small section of the second town block in Cockton Hill.

Larger buildings will not be part of the town blocks, mainly so i can re use them in certain areas to give a little more flexability.Lastly here is an updated shot of the Valley as I move along to Witton Park Viaduct.

Thats all for now, hope to have one or two of them blocks finished over the weekend.
