Durham Viaduct

I want to create a new Durham Viaduct as the old Kuju one is looking it's age. however I am uncertain of how many arches it has (the old one was a lofted section and no idea if it was right or not)

My guess is 12 arches but I could be out by one or 2, hard to get a really clear view. Anyone know for sure?

cheers

I'll drive past it this evening Derek and have a look if you like, as it's only a small detour from my route home to Spennymoor. Do you want some pictures, or just the count of the arches?

Hi Derek. There are eleven arches altogether. From the South, one arch, road, six arches, road, road up to station, one arch.

I've taken some photos, but it was raining and the light wasn't up to much, so I've covered some of the stonework and textures, which I'll happily send you if you want.

How's the release date looking? :-)

Cheers

cool, and thanks! The release date is looking good, always did like a summer release. ;)

Thanks for the update Derek, much appreciated :-) Roll on the summer! Any idea on costs as yet? Just to prepare ground with 'The Finance Committee' (a.k.a The Wife).

Your version of the Durham viaduct is brilliant, so well done! I'm sure that you've got more than enough work to do on finishing the route off, but let me know if you're interested in some feedback on some minor details I noticed while I was there and I'll let you know.

One thing that looks to be missing from your model, and I'm sure you won't want to add, are the large number of significant cracks that I noticed in the stone piers. I reckon I'll be reporting these to someone, as they're a bit worrying (and I'm glad I don't travel by train very often!).
